Can Form I-765 Be Filed Online?
Some Form I-765 applicants can submit electronically through a USCIS online account. Online availability depends on eligibility category and what USCIS currently supports. Preparing Form I-765 in CivicNest is not the same as filing it with USCIS.

Preparation and USCIS filing are different steps
CivicNest helps you answer Form I-765 questions, review your answers, and download a completed USCIS PDF. You still submit the application yourself using the method USCIS accepts for your category.
USCIS online filing means creating or signing into a USCIS online account and submitting the form and fee through that government system. CivicNest does not file Form I-765 with USCIS for you.
Online filing availability depends on USCIS and your category
USCIS does not offer one universal online path for every I-765 category. Whether you can file online can change with eligibility category and current USCIS support.
Check the official Form I-765 page and USCIS filing instructions for your category before you assume online submission is available. Paper filing remains the path for many applicants.
Online and paper fees can differ
Current G-1055 scenarios CivicNest tracks include paper $520 · online $470 (other amounts apply in some situations). Many initial, renewal, and replacement filings are $520 on paper and $470 online, but pending I-485, DACA, humanitarian, and fee-exempt situations use other amounts. H.R. 1 initial asylum, parole, or TPS employment authorization fee is $560 when postmarked before October 16, 2026; $570 when postmarked on or after October 16, 2026. This add-on is not the general filing fee. CivicNest does not use today's date as the postmark. H.R. 1 renewal or extension parole EAD fee remains $280. The October 16, 2026 inflation notice did not change it. H.R. 1 renewal or extension asylum applicant EAD fee remains $275. The October 16, 2026 inflation notice did not change it. Confirm Form G-1055 for your category before you pay. CivicNest preparation is not a USCIS filing fee.
What to prepare before you submit
Whether you file online or by mail, you still need the correct eligibility category, supporting documents, photographs, and fee or fee exemption for your situation.
Use the I-765 document checklist and supporting-documents pages to organize the package, then follow USCIS submission instructions for the channel you use.
What CivicNest does
